Sounds normal to me. At my son's preschool, they have them writing by age 4. Now he asks how to spell things and writes them as I spell them out to him. Currently, he's learning to use upper and lower cases in the correct places. They will begin beginning reading exercises in Dec. My son will be 5 in the spring.

Dont sweat it, your son is gifted. Learning early is fundamental, before you know it he's skipping a grade in school!!! My nephew was the same way and my sister though is was strange too but actually it is perfectly normal. I say live it up and take it in. It just goes to show that you are an excellent parent!!

Preschool question is 5 years old young to be writing the alphabet?
My older son is almost five years old and he's already writing most of the alphabet. It's amazing, he's learning his numbers and letters in preschool, and I think 5 is a young age to be already writing letters.
Do you think that's early, or normal for...
a boy to be writing like that so early? I have to say I'm a very proud parent
But, I am curious.
