if the condom breaks, it's like not using a condom at all. there is ALWAYS a possibility you can get pregnant when the protection is faulty. wait a month and take a pregnancy test if you're worried.

The possibility is definitely lower because of the timing. The safest time to have sex to avoid pregnancy is right before your period and right after it. It's not 100%. I think it's about 80-90% though.

the fact shes on the pill interferes with the hormones that the pregnancy test reads for. It is safer to have it right after because you wont ovalate for another 2 weeks. there theres a 2-4 day fertility period and then the egg deconstructs, so the chances are slim since your period is so close.

If you've been taking your birth control pills correctly then you should have nothing to worry about. On the pill you don't ovulate.

The pill protects you against pregnancy as long as you take it correctly, he could ejaculate inside you all he wants and you won't get pregnant.

I'm on the pill, in a monogamous, clean relationship and have unprotected sex every time ... and in 3 years I've never gotten pregnant.

Your gynecologist/doctor should have explained things to you about how the pill works... Read your pill leaflet and do some research.

Yes, it is possible. But it wouldn't be that likely. I am pregnant and I use birth control and condoms. My boyfriend didnt wear a condom once and he pulled out but I still got pregnant, well I am like 99% sure I am. Just see if you get your period. You might not get the period after this one because it takes 10 days til a pregnancy test will work. Your most fertile days are 14 days before your next period and the other ones there is like a 30 % chance you will get pregnant off of birth control. I wouldn't worry about it. Stress can cause you to miss your period, so don;t stress until you have missed it.

katydid747 - It actually only takes 7 days of continual use for the pill to become effective.

If someone uses a hormonal option and gets pregnant... either they haven't taken it correctly(taking it late, taking medication or antibiotics that interfere, vomiting or having diarrhea within 2 hours of taking it) or they aren't on the right dosage (which is only about 3% likely...)

You will notice that your period won't always come right on time with your placebo week. Mine usually comes on the 3rd or 4th day of my placebos.

Also...when you're on a hormonal option the 14th day of your cycle is not your most fertile... as you aren't ovulating so it doesn't matter. The 14th day of a woman's cycle is a guesstimate of when she's most fertile when not taking any hormonal contraceptives.
