I had the same problem with my son who is also 5 I was washing his sheets 3 times a week well what I did is I stoped giving him stuff to drink 1 hour befor bed if he was thirsty I would let him get a sip of water also I would make him use the bathroom right befor he lays down to get any extra urine out and I found that it helps lot ,also I purchase a bed cover which is awsome becouse if he pee's all the pee will stay in the absorbant pockets in the liner and doesnt wet any of your other sheets so you'll only have to wash one sheet verses a few sheets hope this helps...missv

Contact your doctor this may be an actual problem the kid has no control over.

I would use night time pull ups, that would eliminate the dirty sheets but also encourage him to be a big boy and not wet the bed and if he does he has to wear diapers like a baby and if he doesn't wet the bed without any pull ups praise he a lot and call him a big boy.

Definitely stop the liquids at least an hour before bedtime and if there is still problems try waking him up gently during the night and encouraging him to use the oilet and then put him back to bed.

relax. They all grow out of it. The thing they will remember is your REACTION to it.
Don't fuss. Help him do the sheets washing in the morning with no fanfare. Make it simply a little chore that he does with mommy.
They read our emotions.
Believe me they grow out of it.
Some of it - believe it or not - is hereditary... kinda like bladness. liek father like son, so you might want to ask his father if he was a late one controlling his bladder at night.
I believe it is called eneuresis. look it up. try to be matter of fact about it.

My daughter wet the bed untill she was 14. Turned out that her bladder didn't empty fully when she went to the loo. Along with being a heavy sleeper she'd wet in the car, in the buggy, in bed and even in a shopping trolley when she fell asleep.

See your doctor who should refer you to a child clinic that deals with incontinence in children.

Good luck

yea their are little sugar like pills that they can give you limit the drinks at least an hour before bed and buy the over night doapers for biger kids to save on time and laundry some kinds unfortunatly wet the bed till their quite a bit older like I knew someone that wet the bed till they were 12 its not something that they can control

3 months after our son turned 5 we decided to ditch the pull-ups and go cold-turkey in underpants while diligently stopping his liquid intake one and a half hours before bed, and making sure he urinates just before going to bed. For each morning he wakes up with a dry bed, we applaud him for doing so and give him a gold sticker to place on the calendar for that day. At the end of 2 straight weeks of dry beds we rewarded him with a visit to the museum (which he loves). It's been almost a month now that he has not wet his bed once.

But just in case he suddenly does have an accident, on his bed we put a fitted plastic sheet between two full sets of sheets. That way if he wets the top sheets we just strip them off and we're left with another set of sheets already there for the rest of the night. We've decided not to make a big deal out of any accidents either should they occur.
