My little sister thinks we're too protective

Asked by fau 6 months ago, 5 answers.

Okay so I just wanted some peoples opinions on this I have a yonger sister and shes 15, (1 girl, 6 boys) and she is the youngest and she always says that we are "to protective" we don't want her dating though, she is to young. I have had to beat up a lot...

of guys for her. But she says that we are to protecitve cause we don't want her dating or wearing to skimpy of clothes, our father died when she was 8. so we feel obligated to be the "father figure" Do you think we are being to protecitve about everything?

Beating up guys for her is going way too far, thats setting a really bad example. Just talk to her about it and hope she makes the best choices.

okay I agree with stephanie beating the guys up is not a good idea. I agree that you dont let her wear skimpy clothes, people will refer to her as a slut. thats not good. aww, im really sorry to hear about your father. the dating thing might be too far, I am 13 and have had a boyfriend for a year and a half. let her have a boyfriend but dont let her have one boyfriend for a week and another a different week. good luck!

you haved to understand where she is coming from, she a teenage girl, wanting to do what all her friends are doing.
your trying to act like a father figure to her but you have to let her make her own experiences to learn from or she wont get anywhere.
its okay to worry about her but let her live her life,
if you trust her you know she'll be fine
