What did my two-year-olds do to my computer?

my wife and I were watching a movie last night and I heard my two year old twins messing with my computer period
by the time I came over to see what was going on they had somehow made it that I cant use punctuation the shift key does not work number...

keys dont work only the symbols as if I were pressing the shift key
the roller on my mouse quit working
instead of scrolling up and down pages it goes to the previous web page I was at
and when I left click on anything the whole page is highlighted
does anyone know how to fix it

Well, it sounds like you got some buttons sticking on the keyboard AND the mouse. My suggestion is to go get new ones and keep those twins away from them. They may have been banging something on them, causing them to permanently stick or break. They will probably never work right again, so if I were you, I'd go get new ones. They are pretty cheap at WalMart.

Sometimes turning the computer off, and then back on will make the issues go away. If restarting your computer hasn't solved the issue, then it sounds like they've damaged the key contacts on some of the keys on your keyboard, and stuffed the clickers in your mouse. Neither are designed to take heavy abuse. In which case, you're best to try and get new ones - keyboards and mice don't go to the repair shop to get fixed. They are really cheap these days, just as spiralbutterfly has said.

Try pushing your Number lock key. (Num lock) You may also try hitting the shift key 5 time in rapid order and see if Sticky key is running. . .

Great advice guys. It turned out to be the Shift key stuck down. Once we fixed that, every problem was gone. Thanks again for your help.
