Would birth control help my heavy periods?

my period has been off. & REALLY heavy. I wear the Playtex Sport tampons
& I went threw a box of 16 in 2 days ? would birth control help it not be
so heavy ? im on a perscription too. but I havent took it cause im out. but
its also for my period. & I...

know its not that cause it was this heavy while
iwas taking it & before I even started taking it.

You should talk to your own Dr about the problem if it keeps up. But yes some birth controles will help reduce the frequencie of your period but not so much the severity.
Do a little research on PMDD to see if any of the signs are what you are having?

Yes some birth control pills can give you shorter, lighter periods. Example...YAZ. Talk to your doctor.
