hey you all....my parents want me to do something in the medical field when I grow up like be a doctor or a vet or something....I want to be a vet, but I want to be a trainer at sea world even more....they keep telling me that I have to do something in the...

medical field...but I'm too scared to tell them...I tried telling them before but I couldn't do it....I just love animals, and when ever I go to sea world, I always think how fun it would be to be a trainer for shamu or a dolphin...any ideas on how to tell/ convince my parents?(I still have a long way to go...I'm still in junior high...but it's something thats been on my mind lately)... (sorry to get to mushy!)

Sorry but I'm a firm believer in parents just have to deal with the choices their kids make, they don't even have to like or dislike them, they have to accept them eventually tho. You don't HAVE to do anything with the rest of your life that you do or don't want to do. If you don't want to do anything and the medical field, and I wonder if your parents considered being a vet to be in the medical field, then be whatever you want. If you want to major in German in high school and college and move to Germany and teach English to German kids then just do it.

Parents want the best for their children, but even the best laid plans don't often work out the way people hope, that doesn't mean it's a dissapontment tho. Do some research, look at ALL your opions and one day you'll figure it out for sure, and you'll walk your own path in life =)

Looks like a perfect compromise (best of both worlds) might be a Vet at Sea World...start now and make sure you're scheduling courses that you will need to meet your goals

Good Luck and God Bless !!

I agree, you could do both. One doesn't have to exclude the other. Good luck!

Just thinking, if you live near Sea World you could check and see if they hire/use help during the summer or have an intern program....
