HEY I HAVE A MAC AND THIS MESSAGE POPPED UP AND SAID THAT MY COMPUTER IS INFECTED AND TO GET ANTIVIRUS. BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY FREE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE FOR FREE???

You don't have a virus. The popup was an advert, trying to trick you into buying their product.

There is one (two?) mac virus(es), and they're not 'in the wild'.

Further, very few viruses have popups saying 'Hi, I'm a virus! You'd better buy a virus scanner to get rid of me!'

If you are still worried, take it to an apple so and have the 'geniuses' look at it. You may have to paay if its your fault for going on the website but Id try anyway. I don`t know what the warranty covers though. Good Luck!

Yup, its not a virus. Its an advertisement.

My suggestion is to turn off popups in your browser. If you use Safari, then its in:

Preferences > Security > Block pop-up windows.

Go to google type in filehippo and click on that. On the front page you will see on the right side AVG free anti virus download click that. It will take you to another screen and on the right side there will be a green arrow pointing down and a bunch of free versions of AVG free anti virus. Click that it takes about 10 mins to install and you'll have a anti virus system. Make you your uninstall your old anti virus system before you install this one
