Does lemon juice help freckles fade?

Okay, I'm arguing with a co-worker about this. She says lemon juice really helps freckles fade, but I say that is an old wives' tale.
So, what do you guys think?

this is probably true, because lemon juice can lighten hair/skin to some extent if left on and repeated enough. one of my friends used it to lighten her discolored elbows : )

It does work to fade freckles, I use it. I don't know about hair though, I haven't tried it yet. But I will! Haha, your co-worker is right.
