Keep dog home

Asked by cheyenne7 2 months ago, 3 answers.

Look I live in trinidad part time.and I have a dog named digit. The dogs in trinidad have the ability to cross streets and go places by themselves and it is not law to stop them.my dog hasn't seen me in sometime because I went away. Now he doesn't listen...

to me. He goes by my aunt and just walks the streets . How do I keep him home without chaining him or locking him up. It is difficult ,I know because you can't teach a old dog new tricks.

Well...first of all...you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Tho, keeping a dog home who isn't fenced in, and has had that freedom for a long time, would probably choose to come and go at will.

Build a fence...

Yes you can teach an old dog new tricks, it was on a show called mythbusters if you havnt heard of it he show shows you what myths are true and which arnt anyways in one week they tought a female and a male dog both much older dogs new tricks actually the only tricks they knew since they were never tought before they came right out of the pound.
I would suggest keeping her on a leash with you and feed her treats when she listens, say sit and if she doesnt push her bum down (not to hard, you dont want to cuase damage and if she does say good boy/girl and give er a treat. have her stay indoors and keep an eye on her always remember to reward her when she/he does something good or that they are soppose to.
