Biden has said raising your taxes is 'Patriotic' - Agree or Disagree ?

I agree it would be patriotic if raising taxes were in the best interest of the country. If the country can't survive with out them, then it would be extremely unpatriotic to oppose them. I think spending taxpayer dollars like a drunken sailor as the GOP has done for the past eight years is also unpatriotic, and the same goes to people who support the GOP and their fiscal policies.

I guess it's all a matter of perception. Reagan drastically increased the national debt, as has Bush, basically taxing future generations. Would you consider this patriotic?

Well, I don't think it's greed, necessarily...I do think tho, that the government is loaded with fiscal mis-management (and I'm not talking about things like this newest bank bailout type thing)...I'm talking about the million upon millions of dollars that no one has to account for...The "oopsies".

It's a plain human fact...that wasting or losing money from one's OWN pocket is far more painful than "oppsie-ing" other people's money.

Well, I would have to disagree with Biden's statement since raising taxes is very unpatriotic since raising taxes would probably put us in dett.

raising taxes for the WEALTHY is patriotic and right, since they are paying much, much less than normal families in terms of the percentage of their incomes that go to taxes

Leslie23, please explain to me exactly how raising taxes will but is in DEBT? Raising taxes would bring in more revenue.
