The 'would you do it if God was sitting in the room with you?' question applies to going to the toilet, having marital sex, probably picking your nose etc... It doesn't work. Lots of things are private and we wouldn't do them if someone else was sitting in the room with us. It doesn't make them wrong. It's a nonsense argument really, I'm afraid.

There are loads of questions on FunAdvice like this already. Follow them up to read the answers already given, I suggest.

I think it's not wrong but you need to be careful not to let it take over you life. For Christians, God should be in charge, not any other habit or activity.

Masterbation is not wrong if you are Christian. Don't let anyone try and tell you that they know what God thinks though. The only direct link to God on earth is the one in your heart between ONLY you and him. No one can tell you what is right and wrong except yourself and your own faith.

No, it is a natural thing and everyone does it. It's a part of life and there is nothing wrong with it. =)

Yes, it is wrong. And no, not everyone does it. The only people who say there's nothing wrong with it are the people who do. Would you do it if you could see God and he was sitting (literally) in the same room with you? Seriously. It's disgusting.

It is not true that all people mas*urba*e! Where did you come up with this? Babies don't mas*urba*e, little children don't mas*urba*e, relgious (not your religion which means whatever you think is right in your heart, because that's not actually religious) people don't mas*urba*e. Pretty much the only people who mas*urba*e are the people who can't get laid. I mean why would you mas*urba*e if you could have sex?

If sex before marriage is a sin then so is mas*urbat*on bc mas*urbat*on is still sex, it's just sex with yourself. We are to flee from sexual immorality and anything with the appearance of evil, we're to examine everything carefully holding fast to that which is good (1 Thess 5:21-22). If you have to ask, it's probably not of God. The whole point of mas*urbat*on is satisfying your flesh, but we are told to die daily to our flesh so we have to put down our own desires. 1 Peter 5:9 tells us not to conform to our former lusts as we did before our salvation, 1 Thess 4:4 tells us to possess our own vessels in sanctification and honor, 1 Corinthians 9: 27 to discipline your body and make it your slave. Romans 8:13 also tells us to put to death the deeds of our bodies, we're to deny our selves and pick up our cross. If we're told to stay away from filthiness, dirty stories, coarse jesting/joking (Eph 5:1-5)...how much more does that apply to committing sexual acts to our own bodies. Remember, the sexually immoral and impure person will not inherit the kingdom, pure meaning untouched (including by your self). If your giving in to your sexual desires then your flesh is in control and not God.

Also, what is on your mind when you are mas*urbat*ng. If you are thinking of sexual things, that is also a sin. And there are tons of scriptures regarding that (Romans 8:5, Philippians 4:8, Psalms 19:14, Colossians 3:2).

In everything you do, do it to the glory of God. Hope I was able to help!

It isn't wrong to mas*urba*e even if you are a martian. It is as natural as breathing, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

And yes, all adults mas*urba*e at sometime in their lives, especially men.

There is an old joke, 80% of all men mas*urba*e, the other 20% lie about it.

I think it is really kind of funny how non-christians...answer questions... that Christians are asking... Ludicrous...

Not possible.

If one wants to get advice from the world, then, by all means do so.

But, if one is a Christian, then, they need to seek Christian counsel.

And I see that question is divided between two different women of God, who both love and serve their Lord. So, it boils down to you have to work out your own salvation, with fear and trembling.

Take the counsel that you have gotten, which is 50/50, and seek God on it. Asking him, for his opinion. He can and will show you, thru his word, and thru his spirit, if you truly seek him.

God Bless...

fau, I would like to ask you a question, if you don't mind. answer if you are comfortable doing so, if not, let it go.

What caused you to start this?

Peer pressure

or

or

You have to be kidding silverwings. What made him start? A better question is what made him stop. Because not doing it is the part that is unnatural.

Peer pressure? Pressure maybe, but not from his peers. Unless his peers make him a little randy...

bbb- Children and babies don't mas*erba*e because they haven't developed those sort of hormones yet. They don't want to, they don't have a reason to. And are you suggesting that young teenage girls who want a little peasure shoud go out and pick some random guy get hitched and screw him? That seems so slightly immoral. What if you never fall in love? What if you don't want to have sex yet? It is not just for people who don't want to get laid, it is also for people who are not ready, or whose loveers are not with them. Soldiers in Iraq right now, do you think that they are sinners for relieving some sexual tensions? There wives aren't there with them. They can't get laid, so what? Most men, and most women, mas*erba*e. Most don't brag on it though, if you ask some random chick on the street, or even a close friend, she will tell you that she doesn't. This is because of people like you, who can't accept what it means to be human and moral. The best of luck to never f*cking yourself bbb, that's quite an odd feat.

You are asking a very complicated question, but I will try to show you the answer as plainly as I can. The Bible does not speak about mas*urbat*on directly, so one cannot simply pull out a verse and claim it to be wrong. As for the man who was struck dead by God for spilling the seed on the ground in Genesis, you will find that he was punished because he did not have sex with the women that God had instructed him to have sex with, but he pulled out in his climax and ejaculated on the ground. When placing this in context, you will find that this man sinned because he disobeyed a direct command from God, not because he spilled the seed(ejaculated) on the ground. Therefore, this passage was specific to the person it happened to and cannot be applied to our lives in any way other than noting that direct disobedience to God could result in harsh punishment in your life. To answer your question, I challange you with this: What goes through your mind when you mas*urba*e. If your are having lustful thoughts about someone, than you are sinning. Jesus said, "If you look at a women to lust after her, then you have committed adultery already in your heart." Therefore, the act of mas*urbat*on alone is not a sin, but if it is accompanied by lustful thoughts it becomes a sin. Hope this helps you. If you have any more questions please post them and I would be happy to answer.

Yes, Master bation is a sin and if your a christian, stop by repenting and talk to your Pastor.
You should never do that since its wrong. I know I was in your shoes for awhile and I've stopped and talked with my Branch President from my LDS church and we believe that Master Bation is a sin. So, go to your Pastor and Repent and Heavenly Father will forgive you.
Hope this helps.

nothing worse than people trying to SPEAK FOR GOD

I am Catholic and I strongly believe in God

but some of you people take it way to far, and make it seem like yall cant do ANYTHING for fun
I guess smoking cigs is a sin because it harms your body
I guess being attracted to a stranger is a sin
hell...even eating too much is a sin

People who are like that are the reason other people become atheist or satanic
because here yall are saying you cant do anything "fun" , and the satanic kids are like ''hey, we can have fun all the time, thats what its all about" even though in the long run...they spend and eternity in hell.

If animals can mas*urba*e, so can we. Atleast they dont have to deal to some fellow animal coming up to them and telling them that they will goto hell for doing so.

STOP SPEAKING FOR GOD
how do yall know there is not a guy up in heaven right now that beat off day/night? Lets say this guy saved lives while amongst the living, led a good life, donated to charities, or even the head of a strong, loving family.
Yall telling people what they can and cannot do, is pretty much trying to pass judgement, telling them "If you do this, this his how you will be judged" when ANYBODY who believes in God knows, that only GOD can judge.
