Is he too old for me?

I am 13 and I like this guy that is 16. Everybody keeps telling me that he is way too old for me, and that he just wants to take advantage of me. I dont think he would though because he is so sweet and can always cheer me up.
Do you think age matters?

3 years really isn't that much, just be careful and know when to say "no" if he approaches you in a weird way.

I totally disagree with the people above me. yeah true, three years doesn't seem like much.. but being 13 and 16 is a HUGE difference. you do a lot of growing up, and experience a lot of changes within those three years and it definitely cannot be compared to something like a 21 year old dating a 24 year old. my cousin is 13 an if she wanted to date a 16 year old I would slap her silly. wait a few years, seriously. if both of you guys were adults then it wouldn't be so much of an issue, but you are both still kids and your friends are right he is WAAAY too old for you.

it definitely depends on the guy... but when I was 14 I dated a 19 year old... it wasn't all that bad... I was never taken advantage of.. or anything of that sort... I was respected...
and that was a 6.5 year difference.. not 3...

Today yes, but in 3 years not. Then you will be 16 and he will be 19, and that is okay.

do not listen to anaka...okay...you are to small to be dating a guy that is 16 years old...this guy will probably take advantage of you ...yeah he probably act sweet and everything right now but later on everything will change..I am telling you this out of experience..when I was 15 I was dating a 19 year old guy he was really nice to me at the biggining bringing me flowers watching movies together everything was so nice until he preassured me to do things when I said no he tried to rape me...and trust me I didn't go nowhere by myself with him I always went with someone...it turned out that he had a family and was married...girl don't go with someone older than you right now ..yeah they might act more mature than the guys your age but they just play with you...

im 13, and in september I started dating a 16 year old .
I like older guys .
they are immature , but they are more mature than guys my age .

and they know what to do when you are in a relationship .
