It looks really great with the right clothing. Use black accents (belts, etc), but lighter cloths if you dont want to come across as 'emo' or 'goth'.
Some people dont like it for whatever reason - I guess a lot of them are hung up on the fact that it used to represent goth almost entirely. Now it means so much more.

Hey, so I just had a quick question. I personally love black fingernail polish, and I think it looks really edgy and unless I wore a whole bunch of black clothes with it and dyed my hair I don't think it would make me look goth or emo. HOWEVER, some...
people have been telling me that people will think all sorts of bad things about me if I wear it. honestly, can I wear it w/o looking goth/emo? (nothing wrong with either styles, just not how I like to dress)
