Is being a prep a bad thing?

The Reason Why I'm Asking This Question Is Because Everybody's Like O I Hate Preps Well What Do You Think?

I hated prepy girls when I went to school.

Steriotyping is a bad thing! The people you hear this from must be very simple-minded to judge who you are by the way you carry yourself...

no it aint a bad thing...its better to be a prep then some kid that spends all his money on drugs

because there annoying with all their school spirit. Most of the time, or the ones at my school have way too much confidence in themselves, and think there hot, and what not.

not all preps are annoying. I'd rather spend money on shopping for clothes than buying drugs for a temporary high. at least clothes you can use more than once. I love being a prep. we all dont have way to confidence in ourselves and yes we have school spirit but we're not super school spirited. yes im capitian of the cheer squad and my boyfriends a football player so yes basic high school couple but geez.

Being a prep can be kinda annoying, but be yourself! :-)

Well no. but I do know someone who is a Prep and is a brat at the same time. but if you want to become a prep than do it just follow God.

well to my school a prep is a rich stuck up an dressses all nice like holllister and crap and is like always saying oh my god like omg ya like those kids and yes get annoying becasue they are so stuck up and crap so yes I think so no offence though rite

I used to hate preppy girls, only because those were the girls that would pick on other people because they had bigger insecurities than others could see... as far as I'm concerned be who you are but don't push people down to the ground to do so.

I don't know I dont think its bad but preps dont call themselves preps, other people that dont like them or wutev do!
just like emos or whatever dont call themselves emo or goth or whatever, or white trash doesnt call themselves white trash...
people from all groups can be annoying! dont blame it on just preps, geez!
just be yourself and dont care if other people you barely know call you too preppy or think your annoying or a bich, because maybe they might just be jealous

Ah... I so go through the same thing.. I go to an extremely small school & get told I'm the biggest prep in the whole school.. they mean it in a bad way but I take it as a compliment... I personally don't shove anyone in to a stereotype but if others feel good a/b it afterwards then w/e good for them. I don't think I really even know the whole definition of a prep.. apparently if you wear name brands and 'talk' a certain way & do such and such you're a prep. I think it all comes down to jealousy & just hateful-ness.. : )

Being a prep is not a bad thing at all!!! When I was in school I was one of the preppiest girls in school and was verrry popular because of it. I was also a captain of the cheerleading and dance team and my boyfriend was a football player. People didn't hate me because I wasnt very stuck up so there was no reason to hate me!!!

Oh, don't worry girl. I am a prep too and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it unless you let it go to your head. If you start changing your attitude and being rude to people, they will say your snobbish because your a prep... but it is possible to be a prep and have people still like you. I dress nicely, and I'm on Varsity cheer, and pretty popular but I'm also really nice to everyone and in community service and leadership programs; just be yourself and if people stereotype you just ignore them :]
