Personally I'm not really one for labels - I generally don't see the point in paying 5 times more for clothing just because its got a logo on it, or is a certain brand. At the end of he day, a branded piece of clothing isn't going to do any more than a brandless one, and although it might last a bit longer than a brandless one, you can buy another brandless top and still save lots of money compared to buying only 1 branded one. I personally choose my clothes on whether they look good to me, not whether others would consider them "cool".
Its funny how brands can be considered cool, and how people will clamour to get them just to try and be cool and "fit in". In some ways its a bit like the old Class-based society, a way to say "I'm better than you" or "I'm richer than you", and the less popular kids will try to use it as an avenue to try and be cool. Here in New Zealand when I was at primary school, the "cool" brands at the time were "Starter" and "Hot Tuna". The Warehouse (a bit like a budget Target or Walmart) did a deal with Hot Tuna and started selling the clothing at cheaper prices - and overnight Hot Tuna clothing became totally uncool. I felt sorry for the less well-off kids who turned up at school suddenly wearing Hot Tuna clothing, hoping to be accepted by the cool crowd only to be ridiculed as being "so yesterday". Their families wern't exactly full of money, and they would have had to really plead with their parents to part with the money (probably needed elsewhere) to get the Hot Tuna stuff even from the Warehouse - only to not want to wear it anymore because of the tauntings of the cool kids. Must have made the kids feel really awful. Me, I was never allowed any labelled clothing regarless of whether it was expensive or not, so of course I was never in with the cool kids.
Anyway, I'm getting a bit off-topic here. Yes, I think AF is overrated, but there's been things like it before, and things like it will come in the future. Its just the way society is.
yes I do believe that abercrombie and fitch is very overrated for one that do not have any ethnic models what so ever which isstrange. I that don;t even have hispanics or black and white mixtures. I can afford their clothing but I choose not to wear their clothes I'd rather go to aeropostal instead of them and their clothes are better looking
American Eagle, A&F, Hollister, Hilfiger, etc... BLAH!
They all have the same format: "Take a normal looking article of clothing, and put our name on it IN BIG LETTERS!"
Here are some examples:

I absolutely love hollister, american eagle, and a+f. but I also agree that these stores are overrated. I can't help it. I'm so girly, and I love shopping. I just love those stores because like any other store, they have cute stuff. and I love cute clothes (: I agree that society is part of this whole label wardrobe scenes, but when you look in my closets a lot of it is hollister ae and af. basically, they do have really cute stuff like shirts and sweatshirts. and always girly stuff for those who are obsessed with that.like me haha.
ok seriously abercrombie is not over priced at all seriously and I think abercrombie is wayyy better than hollister and even the abercrombie is more expensive there clothes dont fall apart like hollisters does and : a.e, hco, A&F, and rhuel have simailr stuff because there all connected and if you want expensive clothes go to lucky , saks, neium marcus, true religion, or nordstroms even though I LOVE IT there!!! they are all amazing!!!
I like a+f adn hollister and that stuff. and when I go shopping I usually buy that stuff but people are so dumb. they walk in the store and pick up the $40 shirt in the front.and think they cat aford it.
What I do is nonchalantly go to the BACK of the store and buy a $15 shirt on clearance. I remeber getting a shirt for $12 even $10.
But Abercromibe is sneaky because they hide their clearance for about a week.(I.e behind manniquins and tables)before they have to throw it out.
I admit it is a bit pricey but if you look there are some affordable things. and no im not a 40 year old soccer mom. I am a 15 year old girl who has friends in high school.
