I really believe they are. Most of the foreign countries hate the United States. They need to bring our service people home and quit sending money over there and let them fight their own fights. Keep our noses out of it. Keep our service people in the US not have them on some foreign soil where they can't protect our country. Lot is happening here in the United States that the controlled media is not printing.

>> controlled media is not printing. << - you're right like the Leaders of France, Britian, Germany, and Italy, all being pro-American.

you funny mebes Actually if you read oneheartnow comments, they are the root of my question. Without hesitation he refers to the media as being controlled, my guess is he believes the media to be conservative bias. Gallop polls show the media to be tilted to the liberal left, in fact one study showed that 70 percent of journalist on average vote democrat. NBC. nightly news actually has an Obama campaign headquarters right inside their studio. new york times, washington post, la times, and my home newspaper "the oregonian" do not even try to hide the fact that they are left leaning organizations.

Thats what I am talking about. If oneheartnow believes its ok to spew lies, than how are we going to get along in this country?

No we're not heading for civil war. The US has been far more divided in the past 150 years, socially and politically.

rickd, please don't try and peddle the myth about liberal media bias. I bet you think FAUX News is not biased. The media is owned and controlled by huge corporations that meddle constantly with the content being aired. The only true liberal shows on TV are The Daily Show and Kieth Olberman. And one is supposed to be a fake news show, but actually is more accurate than the real news. And if Olbermans ratings weren't so high, I think they would have pulled the plug on his show a long time ago.

If there was a real liberal bias in the media, we would not be in Iraq right now, and bush and cheney would have been impeached already.

Media bias - interesting. In France and the UK all media is biased, and you choose the newspaper or, to some extent, the channel, that supports your own views! We don't question if the news is biased, we know it is and treat it accordingly. My dad, for example, buys two newspapers and compares the reportage in each. I do that sometimes - The Times (reasonable centre right) one week and the Guardian (fairly strong left) the next. We surely just have to be aware that owners, editors and journalists have their own views, and seek an intelligent balance.

Flossheal, we do have many media outlets that lean one way or the other, like FAKE News and Air America Radio. But the majority of the media in the past in this country has been mostly nuetral in its coverage, even if the editoral pages leaned left. That is no longer true. In the past most newspapers were owned privately in family businesses. But now they have been consolidated and been bought up by huge corporations. And the deregulation that started with Reagan in the 80s allowed that to happen. There used to be laws preventing the same company from operating print media and a tv station in the same city. Deregulation changed that, mainly for Rupert Murdoch, and enabled papers and tv news to be controlled by the same companies. And they also did away with the fairness doctrine which ensured balanced reporting.

The bottom line is that now we have a skewed view of the world due to corporate interests controlling the airwaves, with government turning a blind eye to it.

yes, we are heading for a civil war. will it happen, not sure. it won't be a civil war of military VS military. it will just be major cities rioting as the government looses control of the people. people in small towns should be ok. We have gangs like MS13 who are believed to have 30,000 members or more, thats a f*ckin army. No joke, they could really do some damage, and thats just one gang. Plus gangs have been sending members into the military for training, they find graffiti with gang symbols in Iraq. why would they do that. We just have to wait for the spark event, not sure what its going to be though, coule be anything. one major city rioting will turn into many. People underestimate how crazy other people can be. People who normally don't commmit crimes will join in a riot, proven fact. Like me, I live in New york, law obiding citizen. But if a riot broke out in NYC, its a 5 hour drive for me but my as* would be heading down there to throw rocks at the pigs. Just so I could be part of the message, which is directed at the government. HEY, your pissing the people off. Trigger event is all

FYI, this is my 999th post, coincidence, mabey.

*** we do have many media outlets that lean one way or the other,***
All news media Biased. . . Cnn, Abc, Msnbc, Fox Ect. all of them it's a ratings game.
Of Course the Media does not want you to believe this since they have done it very actively since the Korean war.
They were all for the War in the middle east till it became old news.
But as I said before You believe your lies and we'll believe ours.

I don't believe anything I hear or see on TV and talk radio till I read about it for myself from multiple sources. Not all news is biased. I think pbs is pretty middle of the road, and the bbc too. Other than Olberman, msnbc mostly leans right, and CNN has become almost as bad as Fox, and the major network news I barely watch.
