Ipod is not being recognized

Hi, everytime I used to connect my iPod nano to my computer, iTunes would open and it would be ready to work. Now, when I connect it , itunes does not recognizes my ipod. Sometimes it recognized it but when I tried to put music I got an error that said...

that the folder was missing.
Does anyone know what to do about it? Help ? Please?

I THINK that before you connect it 2 your computer you reset it by pressing the middle button and the menu button at da same time den connect it 2 your comp
