Time for our country to have a moral inventory?

Barrack Asked by rickd 4 months ago, 4 answers.

A company that takes no inventory will go broke. When we inventory we try to figure out what are liabilities, and what are assets. Do you think maybe it is time for our country to have a moral inventory? What does our society hold in the asset column...

that is probably doing us harm?

Rickd, the problem is who gets to decide what is moral or not. I say it is immoral to try and dictate to people whether what they do behind closed doors is moral or not.

Instead of worrying about what people do in private, you should be worried about how our government is invading our privacy using the excuse of national security.

You know rick, I think that's a good point and my answer is yes, the country does need to take a moral inventory.
Our society actually, and unfortunately, holds a lot of things in the "asset column" that are hazardous to us. Especially our own moral high standards.
Let's face it, our country is run by morality.
It's nice to know that some thing's never change, but some things should!

Yes, as long as we remember that morality is supposed to govern how we treat others and is not a tool to dictate to others how they should live.
