What to do when I'm 27, 5'7'', 148lbs, and too fat for my husband?

Asked by deneves about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

I searched everywhere to answer this... and got nothing... as I said in the title... im 5'7", and 148 pounds... my husband says I am fat and there fore ugly... litterly... he's off at the golf course most days and evenings... he comes calls home,...

expecting a fatty meal... ie. lasogna... that I must eat too... tells me how fat and ugly I am... wont let me golf with him... questions how many hours I worked out... ays how bad I did with cleaning... (a SPOTLESS house should have 0 dust and evrything done... )
then goes to bed!
He wasn't this bad at all when I was working... but as soon as he said it was ok to retire... all of this came about... the constant reminders that I am fat, and the whole idea that he gets to have fun whilst I must clean and litterly work my bum off kills me!
he says all men are like this though when it comes to house wives... is that true?

In the picture of you and Allan you look great! He couldn't be further from being right about all men in regards to house wives. In my opinion, I think any man who tells his wife she is fat and constantly criticizes her is extremely rude and is jeopardizing his marriage. If I were to tell my wife she was fat and criticize her housework, I seriously doubt if she would take it more than twice but I'd never do that even if it were true. (BTW, my wife isn't fat, not at 5'-2" & 112 lbs) Ignore the criticism! You don't deserve it and it definitely isn't true. He probably wants you to stay home so you won't be hit on by other men and if you were in the work place you would get hit on by a whole lot of men. (do they use that term in Canada; "hit on"?)

It sounds like you married a prick...

Losing weight because he said so, is the WRONG reason to do it. If you're happy with who you are, there's no need. You don't need to lose weight, you need to lose HUSBAND!

Well I dont think the issue is with you being fat because I personally dont think you are fat. You are healthy. It sounds as if there are some underlining issues happening with your husband and we all know that we as humans take out our stress and aggressions on the people who are the closest to us. Now I'm not going to lie. Your husband is wrong in how he treats you but you are wrong too. You shouldnt get lost in this and feel as if ALL you can do is cook and clean. You have to have time for yourself to do somethings you like to do and if your are happy wth your weight you should show it. Flaunt it! But if you have some issues with your weight and you show those concerns your husband may be taking ques from you. I wish you all the best of luck.

Luvvie there is no easy way to say this bt your husband sounds like a jerk
Im 190 and 5"7. I need to lose 20 lbs for my brothers wedding (death)
So even then I would be 170 and that would make me obese in your hubbys eyes:O
Tell him how you feel and if he doesnt like it tell him to F**k off!Rite
Best of luck
