Dear pjorme,
Because of your age your parents are responsible for the baby. The baby's father's parents are also responsible till the father is 19 or moves out of their home. For your parents to take the baby they would have to go to court and state their case. If you are welcome at home with the baby a court probably would not give custody to your parents out right but may have some conditions on you.
Sue...good luck

its your body and your baby ! you should be able to tell your parents so they can help u . im sure your parents will not let you have an operation because danger can happen in a surgery at this age.

Whatever is decided MUST be in the best interests of the BABY....if possible I would hope you seriously consider adoption.

I can understand your reason for asking the question, as a parent you do not think a child of 13 can take care of herself, how can she take care of a baby. The parents mean well as they may feel they can better look after the child than you. The thinks you have to ask yourself, do they want to take away my baby to help me, or they don't think I am capable of taking care of a child. Remember a child will need a lot of attention, and no matter how much you love that child, being a child yourself, can bring you to a breaking point. I believe it is best to sit down with your parents, and ask them to give the reasons why they want to do this. I am not knowledgable in the US law, but you may want to go online and check under the section for "LAW", and see what rights you may have. I believe the age where you can make your own decision is 14 and up, but I could be wrong on that. I am better at Canadian law! Good luck, take care of yourself!

I know you probably dont want to give it to your parents but your under age and I understandvu woulndt want to because you love him/her but you will understand why they did when you get older... anyways you will get very tired and wont focus on school work and its very hard. plus you will have to be with it to change him/hers diper and hold it to make him/her stop crying. you will thank yours parents one day. and so you know some men will not pay support. unless hes a good father but some men say its not their baby and wont help take care of it. same thing happened to my because. her boyfriend didnt pay support until the baby was 2 years old she went through a lot of stuff and got angry with the baby a lot. well hope I gave you enough info.
