Can I move into my boyfriend's house?

I am a 16 year old girl and my parents are recently getting divorced.. I will be 17 in 6 months and I dont want to live with either of them. I do NOT want to move into a foster home. I know excatly where I want to live which is with my boyfriends...

mother. I have my own room and she is pretty strick. I get called names sometimes at home and my 25 year old sister just moved back home and is making things worse.. what can I do??

well hun it really just depends what state you live in...I know that in south carolina you can move out at 17 and not get arrestted for being a runaway...you can also get emancipated, but there are certian standards for that...your best bet is going to be to talk to your local police station or court house or talk to a lawyer...hope this helped.

I believe in most states the legal age to move out is 17 for females. Like snc said talk to your local authorities.

I understand that you do not want to live with either of your parents. If your parent/s agreed that it would be ok for you to live with him and his mother, although ill, agreed, it might could be a situation that would work. Would you stay in school? Would you help with the care of your boyfriend's mother? Would you help keep the house clean? If you get into a huge fight with your parents and sister and storm out, things may not go very well. It is not legal for you to reside anywhere except under the roof on one or both of your parents or a legal guardian. I know this isn't fair, but part of growing up is learning there are consequences for every action and rules to follow in every aspect of your life. Attempt to talk to your parents. Tell them what you would like to do. It is important to be respectful to your parents, but at the same time, you need them to hear you. Let them know that while they are going through a tough time, so are you. Their divorce is causing turmoil for you as well as them. Let them know you are still their daughter and you do not wish to disown your family, everyone just needs some time. And maybe not living down the hall from your sister will help you and her have a better relationship. Good luck to you.
