Well, great for you. Bettering ourselves is always a nice thing. Just be kind and fair to yourself. Start by changing one bad thing you eat, like for example change white rice for brown or wild rice. Drink water! Our body needs the equivalent of about 10 X 8oz glasses of water to make our organs work properly. If we don't replenish it with water or healthy teas, our body starts storing it from being starved of water. Make more soups, make sure the salt intake goes down gradually and go for a 20 / 30 min. walk every day.
When this comes easy, then do light body building. Without building your muscles up, if you're a pear shape like me, you'll only be a smaller pear shape. Maybe find a fun book to motivate yourself that has a log you can keep track of your progress in. You're really commiting to a lifestyle change but it's a great thing! The feeling you'll get from being proud of yourself will be awesome. I know I'm proud of you.

I just got the book yesterday, Oz and Rozien. And you are right it so down to earth! Finally a book I can follow...
You can lose weight and keep it off by going on the Hallelujah diet. It's not really a diet, it's a way of life. Eating raw and eating Organic fruits & veggies is where you get your purest water that people think they need to have, to keep their body healthy. Go to www.hacres.com... and receive a health tip every Tuesday from George Malkmus I haven't eaten cooked food for three (3) years and I lost 30 lbs & have kept it off. Eating raw you don't eat as much food and you are not hungry all the time. It takes some will-power to eat like this, but once you are over the hump, you will be okay. Good luck to you!
Try to cut out a small amount of food at each meal....for example if you are used to eating 2 helpings of bread at meal time cut it down to 1 helping. Cut out dessert every other day. Increase your exercise each day. I believe if you do these things gradually instead of trying to do too much...you will stick with the program. Just try to do a little more each week. Good Luck.
