Lets face it you arent going to lose the weight before school start but you can turn things around and start this new school year with anew attitude towards your health and the way you take care of your body. First of all, diets don't work. They arent sustainable. You need to learn a new way of eating for life. That means lots of vegetables, fruits, beans and small portions of leans meats and fish. Stay away from dairy (except maybe occasional low fat cheeses and yoghurts) and fried foods and sweets. Give your self one day a week to have a few indulgences like a cheeseburger or something so you arent totally deprived of these "fun" foods. Learn to like eating lean and healthy and you will feel fantastic. Your skin and hair will glow and you will start losing weight! Also, start exercising. Start with just 20 mins a day of brisk walking or try to get more involved in gym class. If you dont like that try pumping weights which relly raise your metabolism and help you burn fat.
You can turn things around now. You just need to take the first step. We're here for you if you need support!
im 17 and I weigh 192...but I still have some people that love me...find the ones that love you and forget the ones that dont...and I know how you feel...hang in there
To loose weight the healthy way, you need to be very strict with the diet to gain effective results.
* Consume 4-6 portions per day, example, 4-6 small meals, Including fruit and veg.
* Drink lots of water, possibly 2 litres per day along with green/herbal tea etc.
* 20-30 minute exercise 3-4 times a week (cardio would be best)
* Avoid junk food such as take-away meals, sweets etc
* Protein intake wil benefit you as it is used as energy and does not convert to fat once consumed (fish, chicken etc)
You may not gain effective results right away because it will take your body 1-2 weeks to get used to the new diet, so be patient.
O, and try not to take shortcuts like bulimia or anorexia, they will only slow your metabolism with additional problems to your whole body.
What some individuals tend to forget is that just because you are slim does not mean to say that you are healthy, starving yourslef stores up fat that has alreday been consumed, so you may look healthy on the outside but your bady fat that is stored could kill you, you can go and see your doctor to identify what percentage body fat you maintain and what percentage water you maintain, he/she could also help you out with a diet plan.
Get involved in sports at school. Play tennis or something, when you get to P.E do your best and work out a lot. Drink about 8 glasses of water per day. Junk food won't help at all. Instead of watching tv, if you have a dog, walk and run with your dog..trust me it helps. Whatever people at school say about you, just ignore it. Worry about yourself, you can lose weight!
Hi Nicole. Well you aren't going to be able to lose all the weight by the time school starts but with all the good advice you have here you can start working on it.. Walking is the very best thing to losing weight. But you also need to cut out all the fast food (empty calories) and start eating healthy. Eat more raw fruits and eat lots more green vegetables. You WILL lose weight and love yourself again. You can't do it overnite but just stay w/it. Good Luck!
