Try smaller things. Like dont have soft drink. That one can be a biggy. Also what foods are you eating? Also make sure you have a good sized healthy breakfast every day. If you skip breakfast, your body goes into starvation mode and stores fat

To start with the basics, 3500 calories equals one pound. If you decrease your daily intake by 500 calories, you will lose one pound of fat a week. The same solution as well if you want to burn 500 calories instead. Some great calorie burning exercises are any type of Martial Arts, running, roller-blading, bicycling, and anything that gets your heart pumping. Remember you should be exercising at least 30 minutes a day with a moderate activity. Moderate activity is any exercise that makes you slightly out of breath...some good examples would be swimming, walking, etc...Remember not to pick the activities that burn the most calories, and to pick something you actually enjoy so you look forward to exercising. I have lost 5 pounds with Karate in one month and I don't even need to lose weight. Be creative! If you're a female you should not eat less than 1200 calories a day, and if you're a male you should not eat less than 1800 calories. If you go any lower, your body could go into starvation mode causing your body to digest everything as fat. (Very hard to explain!) This would cause you to gain a significant amount of weight, and possibly gain more than you lost. Believe me, I know from firsthand experience. I used to eat only 300 calories a day, and now if I eat normal amounts of food my weight goes skyrocketing. I completely messed up my metabolism. Not so great, right? Remember to drink water before you eat, because this should make you feel less hungry so you'll eat less. Eating slowly helps you feel fuller as well. If you eat fast you will not realize when you're full. Here's some helpful sites:

*Remember the more you weigh the more calories you burn...as you become smaller, it will become harder to lose weight for these reasons. (in some people)

Always talk to your doctor before starting a diet to discuss how much you should be exercising and what you should be eating. Your doctor knows everything about your health and can guide you through every process. Good luck!

Feel free to mail me if you need more help. I've lost over 60 pounds!

How to LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn't gain your weight overnight so don't expect to lose if overnight. Plus, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

If you need conversion info, 1 kg = 2.2 pounds and 2.54 cm = 1 inch (12 inches = 1 foot)

"How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?"

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it's not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

"What should a minimum calorie intake be?"

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.

I hope you do not take offense,
To that that's gone before;
'Tis only that it's my two-cents,
And not one penny more. §;o)
