Introduce Michael to your parents as a friend. If he is a decent guy, they will eventually warm up to him and realize their bias is wrong. Don't make a war out of the issue. They are trying to protect you. Understand their point of view and they are much more likely to listen to you, if your relationship with Michael does evolve. Until, enjoy the pleasure of his company and try to show your parents how mature you are.
