Just deny the rumor and tell him the truth, if he likes u, he will believe you...and then you guys could go out!!

You cant make someone like you, they either do or they don't. Honestly if he likes you and cares about you then he wont believe the rumor. Rumors are 90% of the time false, and trust me... it could have been much worse!
