Well when I've picked a love song in the past, I try to go for older songs. Older songs that aren't really listened to or heard as often as new songs. That way it means something everytime you hear it and it's special.

Try these:
Joy Division "Heart & Soul" album-Permamnent:Joy Division 1995
Sister Machine Gun "Addiction" album-Sins of the Flesh
Peter Murphy "A Strange Kind of Love" album-Deep
The Cult "Sweet Soul Sister" album-Sonic Temple

or if you want something kinda cheesy......

Revolting Cocks "Da ya Think I'm Sexy" (remake of Rod Stewart) album-Linger Fickin' Good
BiGod 20 "Like a Prayer" (remake of Madonna) not sure of the album

Also Ministry, Skinny Puppy, The Smiths, and Morrisey may be artists to look at.

Good Luck!
