Try exercising, using crunches, hip lifts, reverse crunches, crunch machines or even ab rollers. Even easier, walk or jog or bike for 1 mile and then work your way up try 14 minutes then work up to 1/2 hr. you get the idea. For abdominal fat reducing resistance training is the key. Always neat a good healthy meal, with natural foods, lots of veggies, fruits and lean meats, smaller portions, like 3 oz. size of meat. And lots of water all day instead of soda or presweetened drinks, It takes time and patience to get rid of the belly fat, but you can do it without starving yourself!
yeah crunches and leg lifts are the best. leg lifts get your lower stomach (like the "pouch" that a lot of girls get). crunches are really good for your upper stomach. a crunch is the hardest part of a sit up and this is good cause you want to keep constant tension on the muscles. this way you will lose fat and gain muscle.
I work for a company that does exaclty that. Fig. is the leader in medical body shaping. Everyone's suggestions thus far are exactly right. Exercise and a healthy diet will help you achieve results. Unfortunatley, many people have areas on their body which are resistant to diet and exercise. Fat stores can be hormonally controlled which is why some women lose/gain weight when on the pill etc.
The key is permanently eliminating the fat cells of your trouble spots so the fat cells can't come back as soon as you miss a yoga class or eat some yummy ice cream. Our bodies only have a finite number of fat cells and if you eliminate some of them you will find yourself winning the battle of the bulge in your abdomen, love handles and thighs etc.
A new technology known as SmartLipo can provide amazing results on your belly without risks associated with traditional liposuction. You can find out more about this on http://www.smartlipo.wordpress.com/ and http://fig.com/ourservices-smartlipo.html
I eat healthy and exercise 5 days a week. I don't have the time or the energy to do the extreme training it takes to get a completely flat tummy. So I'm actually getting SmartLipo done next week to shape up those areas which have troubled me my whole life. I'm so excited. For getting rid of those areas that a resistant to diet and exercise SmartLipo is the way to go.
heyhey I goit stuck in the hospital about a year ago because I had an eating disorder too
Sorry I don't really have that much advice for you. Pilates are good for core muscle groups. Other than that anarobic exercises (suchas weight lifting) are really good. And as my ED doctor used to tell me "Weight are good for the bones!" I don't know how much truth there is there...but it's worth a shot. Hehe oh and my name's Amber btw
woot woot

I went to the hospital a few months ago because I had an eating disorder. after 3 months, I gained quite a bit of weight, and im real proud of myself. But I really want a flat stomach, except I cant lose an ounce of weight, or else I'll have to go back....
