mom told me that she keeps telling her, he doesn't live there. because she thinks its one of those low life crack heads. His mom wants me to talk to him but I just want to give up. I could never start a new relationship with someone like that. I wanted to help and my heart tells me to try one more time, but I don't even know if I should try. Should I try??

honestly I dont know if you can get to him to get help... only he can do that for himself...

It is wonderful that you care enough to try. But, he is the only one that can stop what he is doing, it sounds to me like he may need counseling, and rehabilitation. If you move on, and take care of yourself things will work out better for you both rather than dragging it on.
