I think that it's really important to tel lthat special person that you love her. You never know when you'll miss the chance. Who knows, maybe she still loves you too, maybe shes afraid to tell you, maybe shes in the same exact position as you, shes confused amd frustrated, and face it, so are you.
Maybe when you tell her it MIGHT not be the answer your looking for, or it may, but maybe nothing will change between you two, meaning 'the past is past, it can't be redone' meaning, you'll stay as friends. But, it's much better telling her how you feel! It's really crucial to be honest, especially if you still love her.
But another thing, maybe when she told you that you were acting too much like what normal friends would do, maybe shes indicating that your not making the moves enough, your not calling her, your not spending enough time with her, your not kissing her. It could be anything. I'm sure she didn't want to break up with you, I'm sure it hurt her just as much as it hurt you, but the best thing you can do is show her and tell her how much she means to you. Even if nothing happens between you two, you'll feel a lot better when its out, because you jsut might regret if you don't tell her...once you miss you chance, you never know when it'll come back.
