How do I handle my father's alcoholism?

has been in hospital before about it!!!! I have spoke to him about it but he just shuts and doesn't like that I say it!!! what do you think I should do because its issue I can't avoid!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, you can't make him stop untill HE wants to.

Leave AA pamphlets around the house. Maybe you could actually go to an AA meeting and contact someone to try and help him.

It's true you cant make somone quit drinking. My dad was an alcoholic and he didnt quit drinking untill my mom asked him for a divorce and then took all of us away from him. I am now 15 and he drank the whole time I was growing up. He never did anything with us or for us. he went to AA meetings and then he quit but before that he went to the hosipital to the sikward. Dont worry he is not crazy. He was in the hospital for like 2-3 weeks. He quit but now he drinks every so often and it quit. So he will not quit untill he wants to. But I dont know you situation but thats mine. All you can do is pray if you are a reliougious person. Just have fatih and try to talk to him. But it took my 15 years.
