"Adolescent" dogs as young as five months can get pregnant. For many reasons, it is important to spay or neuter BEFORE the first litter is born - before 6 months.

Hope I helped,
Amanda

They can get pregnant as early as 6 months old! You want to make sure that does not happen. The best and healthiest thing you can do for your puppy, is to get her spayed, before that happens. It is very dangerous, because she is still a puppy, and not at all, fully developed yet and she could die during delivery. Breeding is a very serious responsibility, and should only be done by a responsible, experienced breeder. If you don't know exactly what is involved, what you are doing, what to do, to assist the mom and the puppies during delivery, how to handle an emergency {complication}, during a delivery, and so much more, then you will be risking the life of your female and her puppies.

Breeding dogs is not a complicated matter! God made them to be able to birth puppies naturally. With most dogs, you can just leave them alone... they know what to do! Your dog can get pregnant as early as 6 months old, but you should not attempt to bread until they are fully developed, (about 2 years old)...
