How to tell my mom that I have my period?

I've had my period for almost 2 years and I haven't told my mom yet. I don't know why, everybody else can tell their mom but I just can't bring myself too. I want to tell her but I'm afraid to. I don't know what I'm afraid of but I just am. Can anybody tell me a way to tell my mom? Please, I really need help fast

I had to tell my mom because I was at my dad's when it started(ten times worse then telling your mom is telling your dad, he didn't have anything and it was 2:00AM we go some at the bathroom in tacobell haha.

well I had it easy I didnt have to say it face to face I was over my friend house when I had it I told her on the phone. but I think the best thing to do is telll an adult you trust. Maber an older sibling or a older because you can tell them to tell your mom that ill be easy but if you cant do that write your mom a note and slip it under her door one day

I think that maybe you should go the the guidance counselor or the school nurse (a WOMEN) and tell her to tell your mom you dont have to mention to her that youve had it 4 2 years just that you have or rite your mom a note or tell someone to tell your mom I dont no what your scared of I mean your mom has it and she knows that your going to have it one day so why are you scared? any way I hope that I helped

I really don't think you need to. you could ask her if she could pick up some pads/tampax for you next time she goes to the store. She has actually probably noticed the stuff in the trash and that hers disappear sometimes already.try asking your husband to pick you up a breast pump for your newborn. its time to get some guts.

I don't have a husband. And what newborn are you talking about. I was raped and have twin girls but I don't need a breast pump. I don't mean to sound rude or anything but I never said anything like that and I don't know what you are talking about.

she was talking about herself, as a thing that you ask that is harder to ask then asking your mom for a tampon

anyway, just make sure that you put one of your used tampons or pads in the trash where you know that she wll see it, if you can't tell her face to face. or if you mom has a grocory list put tampons on it , she'll figure it out. you could just go up to her one day and say that you need a pad, you don't need to mention that you've had them for 2 years. whatever you do you should tell her, 'she is your mom and diservers to know.' my mom made me write that. grrr. but I kind of agree. anyway the e.z.est way is to just blurt it out one day just out of the blue, no 'here it's coming, watch outs' just say it and close your eyes if you have to.

well when I first started mine, I just said mom, I started.. and she knew what I meant. she let me stay home from school that day and told me how to take care of it. just figure a way that is most comfortable for you, my friend told her through text messaging, so maybe that could be an opinion.

If you have twin girls, it's obvious to your mother that you have your period. It's something that needs to take place to have a child.

I just got mine; and trust me; I just didn't want to tell my mom. Eventually; I couldn't hold off the blood anymore, and I had to get a tampon somehow! I called my mom; and told her that I had gotten it, and she was proud of me. she told me welcome to womanhood. I had lied about it before, to see what she would've done. and I even lied to my friends to fit in; eventually they found out. My mom even said that I was the only one of her 4 daughters to actually tell her that I had gotten it, and that I didn't make her find out.
so if you just tell her, explain to her why you were so nervous, and that you just didn't like to be a woman. well not necessarily yet, but tell her how you didn't like to really express it.

Unless your mom is totally crazy, like the mom in 'Carrie' or something, it won't be bad. At worst, it'll be awkward, and at best, you'll become closer to your mom. Just tell her you need some pads or tampons. When I got my period, I think I used some euphemism like 'it's my time of the month' or something. Back then, when I was 12, talking to my mom about periods was embarassing and nerve-wracking, but after a few years, I was able to talk to her about that kind of stuff without any problem. We made jokes about that kind of thing all the time after a while.

If it's really, really freaking you out, can you write her a note or an email? Or just make sure she sees your pads in the trash? Or ask an aunt or someone to tell her?

My guess is, it won't be a big deal at all. If you've had it for two years, she might already know, and unless you started at age 7 or something, she already knows you're in the right age range to begin menstruation.

its not easy to tell your mom but you have to or else she will think something is wrong with you and take you to the doctors. you really need to tell her.

I was scared when I told my momma about it...
She was okay about it...so just tell her...

it's perfectly normal to be shy about it, but how bad is your relationship with your mom if you dont want to tell her? I had no problem telling my mom. Dont be shy, she'll understand why you didnt want to tell her.
