How much do stamps cost?

its about a dollar to mail a letter from canada to the US. To mail within canada I think its around 60 cents.

Within the states it is 41 cents. However, it goes up on May 12th, to 42 cents.

If I want to go buy some stamps. To send within the states, how much do I have to pay?

1st class letters (under 1 ounce) cost 41 cents (17 cents for each additional ounce up to max. 3.5 oz.). Post cards 26 cents each, and larger than normal business envelope are more.
As Silverwings says that goes up to 42 cents in 8 days.
There is a US stamp called the Forever stamp that is supposed to pay for 1 ounce of 1st class reg mail even if the price is more than you spent on the stamp (see pic).

Oh you're kidding! the price of stamps keeps going up! Everytime I buy a new book I have to buy 2 cent stamps with it because the price goes up every couple of months!

I have the Forever Stamp, it is a picture of the Liberty Bell and it says "Forever" on it, and you can use it no matter what the price of stamps becomes. It works forever.
