Oh thats sad. Is'nt it weird how the death of someone -even not so close- can just put you in one of those WHY moods?
The Iraq war has caused many deaths and I'm sure you're not alone on feeling this way
Interesting note: If you wouldve asked this question during the time period of any of the other major American wars, nearly 90% of all Americans could answer. And look how few answers there are here. This is because that the war is Iraq is sadly unimportant in the average American's life. 4000 people have died in this war, yet no one hears about it. A study showed that only 28% of Americans realize this.
Anyway im sorry for straying from the topic. Sorry about your daughters teachers son.
One of my best friends in high school was killed there. He was 20 years old.
jello, I agree with you that past wars have affected a larger number of people and that this war is not on the minds of most Americans every day. Many people would rather pretend it's not going on. But it's not just the deaths that are affecting people. Many, many more thousands have beem maimed or disabled in some way, and the media rarely brings this up. These injuries are affecting a lot more people.
wow. sorry to hear about that mjax. I agree with you, that had I asked about injuries, the number would be much higher.

How many people here have lost someone they know in iraq?
Yesterday, the war finally touched me in a personal way. The son of one of my daughter's teachers was killed. I didn't know him, but I have met my daughter's teacher.
