I have to send some small items [pictures] from Australia [melbourne] to America [North Carolina].
but I really need to know how long it will take, as the person im sending too might not stay there too long.
does anyone know or know how I can find out?

Probably 10 to 14 days by airmail. Dont foget Fedex if its really important, but the cost would skyrocket. Fedex might take 3 - 4 days.

Use FedEx overnite service, or another quick carrier, like DHL.

Why don't you scan these items if they are paper or pictures on your computer and forward as attachments in an e-mail to the person whom you're wishing them to get asap. This is the cheapest way too.

Delivery time is the sort of thing the Postal Agency or Courier Service you intend to send it with should be able to provide you with, as well as the cost for each type. I suggest you start with the Australian Post Office website, and go from there. The more you pay, the faster it will get there is the general rule, and if the Post Office can't send it fast enough, look into sending it via a Courier or Delivery Service such as Fedex.
