How long should hillary keep this up?

Since it is a fact that Hillary would have to win the remaining primaries and caucuses by a margin of 60/40 in order to over take Obama in pledged delegates, how much longer should she stay in this race before it starts to do irreparable damage to the democrats chances against McCain?

The thing is the even if Obama wins all the remaining states he won't have enough delegates either.

Remember the Ms. Clinton won the Michigan and Florida primaries but their deligates won't be counted. Since neither Clinton or Obama can get enough delegates without these states they may have to be added back giving more delegates to Clinton.

In the case of Michigan, it's deligates won't be counted because Republican lawmakers, over the objections of Democratic lawmakers, moved the Democratic primary earlier than rules apply. If Michigan had another caucus these deligates would be counted but the financially strapped Michigan government already said it won't pony up the addition $18 million another primary would require.

Personally I like both Clinton and Obama though I'm leaning a little more toward Obama. Heck I even like McCain a whole lot more than Bush Jr. I find myself very optimistic about the next president because even the worst case scenario of McCain winning would give us a lot better president than we have had in 8 years.

well, I think just maybe she can still win just maybe but, really I want Obama to but he said he would not pledge to are flag so I'm not sure but,she could still come bac you never no.

I hear that they might end up running together in the end as Pres/Vice if Clinton was in the Vice position I think she would have Obama removed,... quietly... then shread all the evidence.
She must have some pull, she is the only one who hasn't had to give the Tax information up yet. Obama gave his no problem, McCain gave his no problem. What's up Clinton?

Yes, niether of them will have enough to clinch the nomination with pledged delegates alone. But if the superdelegates overturn the will of the people, it will tear the party apart. For the good of the party, she should give it up, or at least stop with all the negative campaigning. It only helps McCain.

As far as Michigan and Florida go, it would be unfair to seat any delegates based on the voting that already occured. In Michigan, Clinton was the only one on the ballot, and in both of them, no one campaigned, and who knows how many people didn't bother voting because it didn't count. The only way to fairly seat those delegates is to have a new primary or caucus.

I also disagree that McCain would be much better than Bush. Slightly better but not in the most important things, like the war in Iraq which he thinks we should stay in for the next 100 years.

No one can be as bad as Bush, the worst deficit since the second world war? gas up from 33 to 100 dollars a barrel? the housing market crashing, I honestly dont see anyone else screwing up that badly... then again maybe people should have thought before voting for a guy who doesnt know children (and not childrens) is the plural...

Ok now that im done ranting, I think Hillary should give it up. She's hurting her party and the general elections are only a couple of months away, she needs to let obama focus on that...

There is an 'ace in the hole' - SuperDelegates - they are free to vote for whomever they choose regardless of the desires of the voters in the states they reside - thus, they could thwart Obama and put Hillary over the top, securing the nomination for her.

I think she should run for as long as it takes and I am not even a democrat. I don't trust Obama.

She should give it up because she cant win. And what exactly don't you trust Obama about? You think he is secretly a muslim, or he doesn't hold his hand over his heart for the pledge? Or do you just not trust African Americans?

amblessed, it aint going to happen. Many of the super delgates are already saying they will vote based on the way the people vote. She can not win. The more I think it and talk about it, the more convinced I am she should stop right now. She is hurting Obama and her party by not quitting. If she continues, it will be sure that McCain wins, and maybe that is what she wants, so she can run again in 2012. Cynical yes, but I think it is true.
