How long after your permit to get your drivers license?

Pattie and George Asked by modernwinterbreeze 10 months ago, 6 answers.

Alright, so I'm turning sixteen this coming July, and most likely, I'm going to get my permit next year. So, out of curiousity, how long do you have to wait to get your driver's liscense? My friend who recently got her permit about a month ago told me...

that she has to wait 6 months 'till she can get her liscense. Is that true? I live in New York, so it may be based on the state law? I don't know.
