You space out your meals by intaking about 200 calories at a time 6 times, then you will in take about 1200 calories a day. which is pretty good if you're normal intake in like 2000 calories. It keeps you fuller all day long even if youre not stuffing yourself. And it keeps your metabolism working all day.
But be careful on what you choose to eat as your 200 calories. instead of eating a chocolate bar, eat like a bananna and an apple, to make you feel fuller.

Eating 6 small meals a day helps to keep your metabolism going,which helps burn fat calories better.
However,that doesnt mean eating a hamburger every two hours will help you lose weight.
The meals should be light,and healthy.Like apples in peanut butter,or yogurt,or a light salad.
Id Suggest a Breakfast,a Mid Morning Snack,Lunch,a Mid-Afternoon snack,and then dinner.
Maybe a Snack after dinner,but keep it light and at least 2 hours before bed,beacue your body doesnt burn as many calories at night.

yeah at first I thought how the hell do I eat 4-6 small meals a day...
I used to fast all day and then eat 1 meal but the weight didnt budge.
I tried the small meal thing and 2 my surprise it actually works lol
what id eat were things like this..
toast for breakfast or cereal.
at about 11 id have half a sandwich
12-1 id have a little pasta salad or somethin similar
at 3 id have some nice fruit which wud fil me up
at 6 id have the rest of the sandwich and maybe somethin else.
dont binge. you really do need to eat little and often. I thought it wasnt gona work but I tried it and it did work. and its still workin. =]
I try to eat every 2 hours, even if it's something small. (it's easy at work because I get a break every 2 hours.)
kimpippin is right, you're body goes into starvation mode and anticipates starving so it'll store more fat if you're eating only a few large meals a day.
Once you get your body into the routine of small meals, you'll eat less but more often and eventually your body will tell you when it's time to eat, and when it's time to stop.(when you're full - listen to your stomach, that's it's job!)

If you want to lose weight without being a psycho maniac you must have a nutritional balanced diet, with a little of everything-even junk food!

I eat two small meals a day and I've lost about 50 pounds already. It makes me so proud. I still have a long way to go though. It's really easy all you do is the plan the amount of calories in each of your snacks and make them small. Apples, like you said, are good and so are salads. DON'T USE RANCH. One serving of ranch has 140 calories. 130 of those calories are fat calories.

How is it even possible to eat 4-6 small meals?
On every diet question, people say you have to eat 4-6 small meals a day, but how do you even do that? that isn't really the point. I cant even get hungry three times a day, so how small do these meals need to be? like, an apple an that's it? I think...
that the most effective way to lose weight is to NOT eat, but everyone says that's bad. why? and im not talking about anorexia.
