How to convince my mom to let me get a belly button ring?

I really want my belly button peirced but I dont know how to get my mum to let me have it done, also does it hurt and what are the bad things about it? please tell me I really want it done!

im not sure how you can convince your mom but I have mine pierced and it hurt really bad. I think it depends on where you get it done though, because I know osmeone else who said they numbed her so she didnt even feel it. I got mine done at a tattoo parlor. you have to clean it really good for a while, and while its healing its real sensitive and if you hit it on somehting it hurts like hell. but if you keep it cleaned and everything then it should be fine

If your mom won't let you get a belly button ring, then she probably has a really good reason.
Parents an get on your nerves A LOT. But they just have your best interest at heart. Wait until you're 18 and then it's legal for you to get a belly button ring.
Until then, you kind of HAVE to wait. Unless you have your mom's permission, you can't get one.

I have to same problem but here is my answer: surf the web and find out some stuff about belly peircing and tell her some benefits(good parts of the situation).And she will loosen up.And if any of your friends have one, maybe you could have your friends parents convince your parents what it is like.

im tryign to get my mom to let me get it done too. she keeps saying absolutely not. but if you reasurch it and tell her that you know how to take care of it and all that stuff she might let you. if not then tell her that most girls pierce theres at home and that most of those dont end up good and that your smarter than that so thats why you are askign her but if she doesnt say yes you will do it yourself ( dont because girls have died from it ) but that you would like her to be a part of it and its a cute new trend that everyones doing and you dont want to feel left out. plus cry a little bit so she feels bad. Well I was very surprised when my mom and dad let me get mine done!... so all you have to do is just explain to her that its your body and you feel that you should be able to get it done... and if you mess up your body then thats on you cause its you body... you just have to prove to her that you can be responisble and clean it all the time... no it done hurt.. you fell the clams the most.. just dont be nervios cause it will only make it worse... you have to clean it and twist it so it dont get infected... but just ask them and if they dont let you then they really need to loosin up!

There are many reasons why I believe I should be able to have the right to do what I want with my body to some extent. I am not asking for a large tattoo on my arm or a nose ring. I am asking for a belly button piercing that will rarely be shown to the public. I guess right now you are probably asking "Why would she want one if the majority of the people won't ever see it? To plainly put it, I believe it is a fashion statement and an expression of my individuality. I understand that it is harder for the older generation to comprehend piercings in locations other than the ears. But looking back through history it is obvious that culture has changed significantly since the early and mid 1900s. Society is ever-changing. Twenty to thirty years ago the idea of piercing ones navel was unthinkable, but as those that decided to rebel against society emerged, new fads and styles were developed. In today's culture it is much more common to practice body modification in not only the ears but also the nose, belly button, tongue, eyebrows...Etc. I hope you recognize my maturity in writing this short paragraph and I hope that now you see my opinion on this subject. And if it provides any comfort I'm not planning to get one until my birthday because even I believe that a belly button piercing at this age is somewhat rushing things. All I'm asking is for you to reconsider your opinions on the matter.

if your not 16 then you need your parent
so if your not just wait an get it done
