How do I get my mom to let me wear make-up?

I'm going into middle school for the first time in September. I am going into 7th grade. And my mom still doesn't want me to wear make-up! But heres the thing. EVERYONE whos ANYONE wears make-up in middle school. She thinks that "I'm beautiful without...

makeup" and "It's mad that kids are wearing so much make-up". I do have her respect. I'm the golden child of my house hold. I just want to convince her to let me wear natural looking make-up. Someone, please help!

I remember feeling that way when entering 7th grade. My mom had the same arguemnt as your mom. We fought a lot the summer before, about me wearing makeup. My mom eventually let me wear clear mascara and lip gloss. It was a compromise.

If I were you I would have a nice dicussion about it with your mom, and maybe settle for something a little less then a lot of makeup- like my clear mascara and clear lipgloss. Thats all you really need. Nothing dramatic or crazy.

Your young- people shouldnt care about whether you wear makeup or not. Be happy with the person you are!

I have to say that I agree with your mother. If I had a daughter your age, I would not let her wear it either.

I am twice your age, and I don't wear it, so it's not even just about age. It's about how fake and disgusting I think makeup looks. People just look so much better natural in my opinion.

Makeup also reinforces negative gender stereotypes.

Also, wanting to be popular is not a good reason to do anything.

yea. I think she would agree if you wear just light make up for the meantime that you are still in such a tender age and then adding a little more as you grow more mature.

I use to feel that way when I was in 7th grade.
my mom finally let me wear it.
after a couple of weeks of wearing it everyday, I got tired of it. and I dont wear as much anymore.
so I wouldnt stress out about this make-up thing.
just because people at school wear makup all the time does not mean you have to.
if someone at school says somthing mean to you about it.
just say .. "sorry, I propally dont need makeup as much as you do !!"
anyway !! I also think you should tell your mom how you feel..like you told us!!

Anyways, with my mother, I tried to let her get me to wear make-up. I kept arguing that everyone would think im alittle baby and even told her some people would beat me up becayse I wouldn't fit in! Thats how dramatic I got. Here's what became of it : She did NOT back down. So prove to her that you're growing up. If you're going to whine about it and spunk and act like your a little baby, thats how shes going to treat you. Now, I dont know your mother, but I do know most. Im a lot older now and I figured out that you show a little respect. Not that you dont but maybe do things for your mom, tell her how prety you look. And maybe for al ittle reverse psychology, tell her how you dont like your hair, or yur eyes, and tell her that maybe if you used a TINY BIT of mascara on the edges, it may make your eyes look bigger. maybe she'll buy it! I agree wearing to much is trashy I remember I was in 7th grade instead of my ma being the one that was difficult it was my dad he was not budgin so what I did I would just go to scholl a little early and put it on at school then before I go home I would wash it off in the bathroom my dad never knew this went on till 9th grade then I was allowed to wear by then so it was great !! if you do this be carefull ..miss v

I wear makeup, and im the eigth grade, I do it for a form of expression because we have uniforms -_-

Are you joking! Make up is fun to wear its something you actually get to decide and its not stupid!
Just convice your mom it is something you can do together to bond or whatever she will like being able to show you how to wear it and I agree that just some mascara and lip gloss will do it!
