How do I dye my hair blonde?

How do I dye my hair blond!!! It is like a dark brown color!! Iput clorox bleach in my hair!!!

Oh dear, wash that out right away. That's not the same as what you can get at a drugstore like Walgreens. Get a home bleaching kit, but be sure that's what you want to do! Follow those directions carefully. Condition your hair a lot, bleaching is very rough on hair and will make it coarse, too. It will be easier to style but won't feel as great unless you condition it

I'm a Cosmetologist and although I haven't practiced in years, there are some things that are basic and I feel that I am qualified to answer your question.

First, 'dye' and 'bleach' are not the same thing. Dye is a color that you put on your hair to make it darker. (You can put a light shade on your hair and it will make it a little lighter, but not blond).

Bleach (or highlight kit) is what you use to strip your hair but since your hair is dark brown, it will not come up light blond. It will be a medium yellow shade and that is if you leave it on long enough. Always leave the bleach on longer than you think you should because it will look like it is light but after you rinse the bleach out, it will not be as light as you thought. A lot of people screw up that way.

*note: Bleach strips the hair of it's color and Dye adds to your existing color.

So go purchase a bleach kit or highlight kit (make sure that you get enough. If your hair is long, you may want to buy 2). You can probably get it at Wal-Mart. Also, I recommend buying Clairol Balsom hair color in a dark blonde to light brown shade. Don't get anything that says 'Ashe color). It will turn your hair green. Balsom is inexpensive and works great.

Now, after you have bleached it as light as it will get, put the dye (hair color). Your hair must be dry. I recommend getting Clairol Balsom in a dark blond shade because it will cover the yellow and look more natural. It's best to wait a day or two, but you may not won't to wait. Read the instructions to see what they recommend.

You really have to be careful with these hair products, being sure to read all the instructions, as boring as they may seem.

oh love...never but actual bleach in your hair...you go to the store and buy either really blonde hair die or buy an actual bleaching kit...they are not expensive
