Here are some tips for you to avoid getting TSS

1) Follow package directions for insertion.
2) Choose the lowest absorbency for your menstrual flow.
3) Change your tampon at least every 4 to 6 hours.
4) Consider alternating pads with tampons( use tampons during the day and a pad at night..its much safer that way).
5) Know the warning signs of toxic shock syndrome which include high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, or a rash that looks like a sunburn during your period or a few days after
6) Don't use tampons between your periods (instead use panty-liners).
