The church is a powerful force for good in this world, many great things have been attributed to it, over the years, however, I do not believe that we have scratced the surface of what could and should be done on this earth. God is love, and he is concerned with the evil that affects persons, and keeps them from coming into his kingdom, where they can be loved and accepted, and cared for, becoming a vital resource for the next person down the line. Much money is spent on great and glorious houses of worship, and that is all well and good, and lovely to behold, but, I wonder, if Jesus was in the middle of a discussion concerning how monies that come into his house, should be spent, what would he say? Would he approve of what we are doing, he left us in charge, of his estate, and one day, will come back to see what we have done with it. Will he be pleased? Will he say, well done, my good and faithful servant ? We each are commissioned to go into all the world teaching people about him, this is not the job of the clergy, it is our job, and we are to meet needs along the way, if we are able to. God teaches us to care for those that can't care for themselves. The orphans, and widows, the hungry, and the naked, the helpless and the hopeless, to each we are to share his love, in word, and in deed. Do we do that? On a daily basis? As a commission, from our Lord? He says if we love him, we will obey him, and this is what he teaches. Have we truly been about the Fathers business? Or are we too busy trying to build our own kingdom, to be concerned about his? If we are called into account tommorrow, are we ready for that? What have we done with the resources that God has given us? What about our talents and abilities? We have to give accounting for that too. He is plain in the word, how he feels about it, we are to use what we have to the utmost, or we will loose it. He said that what one has will be taken from him, unless it is invested and used wisely. He is asking for our time, our money, our abilities, and especially our hearts. All that we are or hope to be, is to be invested into his kingdom, for his glory, and for the benefit of those that it will minister to. We are bought with a price, we are no longer our own. We have been like a sleeping giant, that needs to awake, and look around, and see thru Christs eyes, the needs, everywhere. And we are not to be overwhelmed, we are to seek his guidance, and do what we can with what we have to do with. So, having said all that, Let us be about the fathers business, so that when he does come, we will not have to be ashamed.
