GPA = grade point average, 4 points for an A, 3 for B, 2 for C, and 1 for D.

Then a + is worth .4, and a - is worth -.3, so an A+ is 4.3 and an A- is 3.7.

Then if you have them, AP (advanced placement) courses in high schools are usually worth 5 points...this is for the American system, I'm not sure if it's different in other places.
