Is holding it in when you have to go a bad thing?

yes!
a few minutes is okay though
like if you cant find a bathroom or something
but if you hold iif for way too long
or contiuosly do it it can cause damage internally
especially to your bowels

Its bad to hold it in. If you hold your pee a lot, as you get older your bladder control will decrease and you won't be able to hold it in.

It causes tissue damage in the bladder.
And could cause cystitis or other urinary tract infection
