Help with jumpdrive

I have a jump drive and I stuck it in my laptop to save a file when I tried to open it on the same computer it wouldnt open can sumonee help me please?

is your jump drive recognized by computer?, if not maybe it needed a driver, to open to another computer...

if you are trying to open on another computer is a file.. e.g. Word document.. 2007 word document with .docx extension cannot be open in 2003 office, but lower version of office can be open into a higher version, like Microsoft office 2007.
