Do I like him like a boyfriend?

His name is matt and he was my best guy friend and he liked me for two years. I never knew. He told me this last febuary, I was shocked. I told him I liked him too but I didnt. I told him that because he caught me off guard and I couldnt make up my mind...

that seccond but I could tell he wanted an anwser so I just told him I liked him too. Once I thought about it I knew I shouldnt have lied to him. As time went on I started to like him but it felt like I was just learning to...he then asked me out...it was a single date it was a group date...but I said yes...dont ask me why I said yes because I dont even know...then he starts to call me his girlfriend and then one his friends was mentioned us being girlfriend and boyfriend. This wasnt the first time I had heard of him calling me his girlfriend, my good friends told me that he talks about me being his girlfriend and once agian I was shocked...and now he tells me im his girlfriend and then he asked me if his my boyfriend and I say yes..I know im stupid I let it wayyy too farr. But now I dont know what to do...I know that if I told him that I never liked him he would be heart broken...my best friend was going out with his best friend and she just broke up with him so I dont want him to think that it is because of my best friend or anything liek that. And I want him to be my friend. So what should I do?? He is hott and nice and smart...I do like him but I just dont if is a boyfriend kinda like???

tell him the truth because lieing on him wont make you gain and one day in your future you will have to face him and say the truth so why waiting tell that day? tell him what you feel towards him and tell him you want him to stay your friend

You should tell him that you never actually really liked him and you were just caught off gaurd when he told you. Its worse to lead him on when you dont like him. So just tell him the truth, and make sure its the WHOLE truth. Tell him why you would rather just be friends too. Also dont start to feel bad when your doing this, its the right thing to do.

Before doing anything you might regret, think over the situation carefully, if your sure you DON'T like him then you should go and tell him. If you know you LIKE him then just go with the flow and see where things go from there, but if your UNSURE if you like him or not than your best bet is to just understand how you feel. When your around him do you get butterflies in your stomach? Do you laugh more when he's around? Does he make you smile all the time? Does your heart stop beating every time you see him? If you say no to most of your questions than you most likely don't like it; and then should tell him that you don't really like him all that much. Don't let your fear of the friendship ending, keep you from stopping a miserable dating relationship because that's even worse for you.

kay well I was reading that advice, and its pretty good and all.. but dont you think that this will totally hurt his feelings. I mean you obviously have to look out fir what is best for you, but I know what it is like to be on the other side. maybe he wont be "heart broken" but it will be difficult for him to know that he once had you, and then lost you. like its really hard to be friends with some one, when they feel differently about your relationship then you do. im not trying to worry you, but think about what you could be loosing when you let him go... maybe a good friendship?
-at the same time though... if you dont really have feelnigs for him (the way that he does for you) then this could also make things complicated...
