ok - I'm english - whats emancipated? I thought it was something you done to the dead!
kyser - it is basically when you are no longer under the 'control' of your parents or guardian. It is not an easy thing to get done, you must have a really good reason why you want to be released from the control of your parents (most cases that involve abuse usually end up with the minor being placed in foster care while if you simply dont like their rules odds are it will be denied) and you have to show that you are able to support yourself. Basically you then have the rights an responsibilities of an adult...
if you get emancipated take a laxitive =)
Go to school.
I've looked into emancipation.
Where I live I think you HAVE to go to school.
So it depends on where you live.
You should continue to go to school and finish. You will have the rest of your life to work full time once you become an adult meaning 21 years and older, but for now while you are young finish school first or you might later regret it. There is nothing wrong with a GED but either way it goes you still have to study to ensure that you that you will either graduate or pass the test.
Dear stephie_lynn92,
It depends on where you live. Here in Canada Social Services will not pay for your room and board unless you are in school.
Sue...good luck
Depends on your situation. Most young people will not finish school once they become independent of their families. Like anything else many times our intentions are good but the follow through in not.
Kyser do not become emancipated from your parents, you need to continue school
Go to school. It's so much harder to get a job with just a GED. You need a high school diploma to get a good job. Well I mean, if someone with a GED and someone with a high school diploma went to a job interveiw, who do you think would get the job? The person that went to school, or the person who just took a test to get it over with faster? The person with the high school diploma would get it.
NOT TRUE!!! DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN WORK FOR FEDERAL POST OFFICES W/O HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED? AND THEY MAKE UP TO 4,500$ A MONTH!!! I KNOW THIS B/C MY HUSBAND WORKS THERE AND WHEN WE WERE LOOKING THROUGH THE REQUIREMENTS ALL YOU HAVE TO HAVE IS NO TICKETS FOR 2 YEARS AND 2 YEARS DRIVING EXPIRENCE AND PASS FEDERAL TEST BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO GRAD!!! ISN'T THAT CRAZY?
thinkpixi18: That is one job. I highly doubt everyone will want to be a mailman. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but it's a hard job and she is only a teenager.
